Montana Drug Testing

Montana has no shortage of struggle when it comes to methamphetamines. Meth use exploded in the late 1990s - into the early 2000s - and government officials have been working hard to pass laws that make it difficult to obtain ingredients for meth. While this helped to drastically reduce the number of meth labs in the state, as well as the cost for treatment, Montana has once again begun to see an increase in meth use over the last five or six years.

With methamphetamine having such a stranglehold on a large percentage of the population, it has become a best practice for businesses to implement a drug-free workplace program, which includes pre-employment drug testing. These types of services have increased the need for convenient drug testing centers throughout the state of Montana.

Our testing locations do not accept payment and require a drug test order form at the time of testing. Please click the "Order a Test" button to order your test. Once your order has been processed, your drug test order form will be emailed to you. Testing options may vary on a site by site basis. Additional fees may apply depending on your location.

Implementing a Drug Testing Program

For employers, Montana statute does not mandate drug and alcohol testing. Montana law does require all employers using drug and alcohol testing to adopt procedures developed by the DOT (49 Code of Federal Regulations, part 40). Montana law also restricts testing to ensure only employees involved in certain hazardous, security, safety, or fiduciary positions are subject to testing. A written drug-free workplace policy is required.

Most insurance companies will not pay for accident claims until the individual proves that an accident or incident was not caused by substance abuse or intoxication. Companies without drug-free workplace programs should implement such a policy in their business. Immediate drug testing and alcohol testing can easily answer the questions insurance companies and employers are seeking. Was the driver or employee under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident? In Montana, an employee is not eligible for benefits otherwise payable under workers comp laws if the employee's use of alcohol, or drugs not prescribed by a physician, is the major contributing cause of the accident.

Hair Follicle Testing

A hair follicle sample can detect drug use with one week and up to 90 days after use. Hair follicle testing is highly recommended for employees who are entering highly sensitive areas of employment, where zero tolerance of alcohol and drugs are prohibited. Results are available within 3 to 5 days of testing, and there is no evidence of false positives. Tests are reliable and 100% accurate.

EtG testing consists of taking a urine sample or hair follicle. Liquid chemicals like alcohol are processed through the body and enter the bloodstream about immediately. The liver is responsible for regulating the blood and glucose levels, which alcohol consumption effects.

Companies can never be certain that candidates are telling the truth about drug or alcohol usage. The quickest way to get to the truth is to order a hair follicle drug testing sample. Drugs use is the number one cause of accidents on the highway and in the workforce in Montana. Employers are responsible for the well-being of their employees and the stability of their company.

Accidents set companies back financially, sometimes creating a hardship. This makes it impossible to form alliances with other companies. Hair follicle testing can put worries to rest. We have several types of drug tests that can quickly identify which type of drugs are being used, so employers can decide what steps the company need to take to protect their interest and the interest of its workers.

Each US Drug Test Center in Montana can provide lab drug testing with MRO review. Hair follicle testing has a longer window of detection and is often the better choice for employers who are looking to pre-screen potential candidates.

Medical Marijuana Use in the Workplace

Montana has a law that permits medical marijuana use in the workplace. Many restrictions apply to the users of medical marijuana, including not being permitted to operate vehicles, heavy machinery or perform other safety-sensitive tasks while under the influence of marijuana. Additionally, employers are not required to accommodate marijuana use in the workplace. Public use of marijuana is prohibited.

Our Montana labs can test employees and non-working individual's urine or hair for drug use. Individuals who need testing to satisfy job or court-mandated requirements can visit any of our drug test centers.
