Online Training

A critical component to any comprehensive and impactful drug-free workplace program includes employee and supervisor training. Providing training for your employees, supervisors, and managers have long been considered an industry best practice. When you consider all of the rules, regulations, legalization changes, and overall increased in illicit drug use; it has never been more critical for employers to conduct training in their workplace.

Drug use in America is at its highest levels in more than a decade. According to the latest data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH)[1], an estimated 30 million people, or 11.2% of the U.S. population, used an illicit drug in the past month. One in seven people, or 20.7 million Americans, needed substance use treatment in 2017. Approximately 26 million people were current marijuana users.

Employers are strongly encouraged to provide training to their employees on the dangers and impacts of drug and alcohol use. Employers should also provide training for their managers and supervisors on how to recognize the signs of impairment from drug or alcohol use and clearly define the action steps they should take in these instances. Regulated employers are specifically required to provide supervisor training on reasonable suspicion and the impact of drug and alcohol abuse, to comply with federal (DOT) regulations.
