Welcome to Las Vegas sign

Employers often need to conduct drug and alcohol tests under specific circumstances.

  • Potential employees/job applicants might undergo drug testing during the hiring process and prior to being offered a position of employment. This usually requires them to provide a urine sample.
  • Immediate drug testing might be needed after a workplace accident involving employees.
  • Reasonable suspicion drug testing might occur if an employee shows signs of impairment.
  • An employee might be required to submit drug screening results before returning to duty.

More on how we work with employers in a moment!

For Individuals

We have many individuals ordering drug testing for themselves and others.

What Kind of Drug and Alcohol Testing Do We Provide?

We have a wide selection of drug testing panels and individual drug tests to select from, including urine drug testing, hair drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.

Different types of drug tests offer their own benefits. For instance, urine drug testing is non-invasive. Hair tests require the collector to cut the hair, but this test offers a longer lookback period. This means that these drug test results are extremely helpful to look further back in time and find patterns of drug abuse.

The Drugs We Screen For

Our drug testing company has a long list of substances that we can test for, including:

We can also screen for common club drugs and street drugs, in addition to heavy metals. Furthermore, we're able to conduct testing for unknown substances, if the individual feels like they've ingested something dangerous but don't know what.

All drug test results are checked by a medical review officer (MRO). The MRO confirms that they are accurate results and will identify reasons for re-testing if there are any.

This is especially important considering that certain prescription drugs can trigger false positive drug test results in drug screening.

Additionally, we only work with highly qualified, SAMHSA-certified laboratories in Nevada, including Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp, and CRL.

Instant drug testing — also called point of collection testing (POCT) — is conducted at the collection facility where you provide the specimen sample. Negative results from immediate testing are returned on the same day. Same-day results mean less employee downtime!

Note that our immediate drug testing service is not available to DOT employers.

Why is Drug Testing So Important?

There are a few reasons why drug testing is a must-have for employers in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Strip, Las Vegas

First, one must consider the constantly evolving legislation around marijuana, including both recreational and medical marijuana. Marijuana laws are complex and confusing. They differ from state to state. And they change over time. Keeping up with state and federal law can be overwhelming. We remove all of the guesswork from marijuana drug screening and do the heavy lifting for you.

Second, there's our country's addiction to opioids to consider. Keeping opioid drug use out of your Las Vegas business is incredibly important for the employer, employees, and the people they do business with.

Third, drug abuse in the workplace costs employers billions of dollars every year.

  • Drug use increases the occurrence of on-the-job crime and workplace accidents.
  • Lost productivity costs Nevada employers money.
  • Employees are likelier to make mistakes in their work.
  • Drug and alcohol use causes employee turnover to increase.

If you're a Nevada employer and don't currently have a drug screening program, you need one immediately.

Yes. Employers may be able to leverage a ‘Rebuttable Presumption of Intoxication’ defense to a Workers’ Compensation Claim, based on a positive drug test result. A positive drug test may also make an employee ineligible for unemployment compensation if terminated due to misconduct. Employers wishing to leverage either of these benefits must voluntarily comply with very detailed program rules.

Yes. This state authorizes the medical and adult personal use of marijuana. The laws impact employee drug testing programs. The medical marijuana law provides some limitations on employers related to the discipline of medical marijuana patients. The medical marijuana law appears to place some reasonable accommodation obligations on employers.
