Oklahoma Drug Testing FAQs

Do employers in Oklahoma need to comply with mandatory state-specific rules when drug & alcohol testing?
Yes. Oklahoma has very specific rules for employers that wish to conduct employee drug testing.
Is a Drug-Free Workplace policy required in Oklahoma?
Yes. Employers must have a written policy. The policy must be provided to employees and to applicants who are accepted as employees in a variety of specific ways (posted internally, physical copies, etc.).
What are some compliance requirements in Oklahoma?

Employers may only test for controlled substances in Schedules I, II, or III. Test facilities must be registered with the state and pay a fee. Onsite (POCT) drug testing is permitted, but with specific requirements. Post-accident drug testing is limited.

Are employers in Oklahoma able to use drug screening for any other claim defenses or state-specific financial benefits?
Yes. Employers may be able to leverage a ‘Rebuttable Presumption of Intoxication’ defense to a Workers’ Compensation Claim, based on a positive drug test result. A positive drug test may also make an employee ineligible for unemployment compensation. Employers wishing to leverage either of these benefits must voluntarily comply with very detailed program rules.
Does Oklahoma authorize marijuana (THC) or cannabidiol (CBD) use?
Yes. This state authorizes the medical use of marijuana and cannabidiol for very limited medical conditions. The law does impact the workplace. Employers are prohibited from discriminating against an individual solely based on their status as a medical marijuana license holder or the results of a positive drug test result for marijuana (with some safety-sensitive position exceptions).
Can I be fired or lose a job offer in Oklahoma if I fail a drug test?
In Oklahoma, if you test positive on a drug test it can be grounds for termination or a rescinded job offer.
What are the medical and recreational marijuana-related rules in Oklahoma?
In Oklahoma, medical marijuana use is considered legal and cannot be used against you if you test positive, unless you are in a safety sensitive position.

Oklahoma Drug Testing for Companies

Substance abuse can have serious ramifications for Oklahoma employers. Drug or alcohol use can hurt productivity and morale, increase employer turnover, and lead to more workplace accidents and crime. All in all, drug abuse in the workplace costs American employers tens of billions of dollars every year.

US Drug Test Centers works with Oklahoma companies and provides the following services:

  • Drug and alcohol testing: We provide all types of workplace drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion drug testing, post-accident testing, and return-to-duty drug tests.

  • Training: We'll train your staff to recognize the signs of impairment and also manage your workplace drug and alcohol testing program as a whole.

  • Policies: US Drug Test Centers will carefully craft your workplace drug testing policy. This outlines details like what type of red flag suggests impairment, what happens should an employee test positive, under what conditions you conduct drug testing, and what the policy means if an employee is a medical marijuana license holder.

  • Background checks: We can conduct your background checks, which you can order and review electronically.

Additional Drug or Alcohol Testing for Individuals

We don't provide drug or alcohol testing only for companies in the state. Individual residents are welcome to order a test for either an individual substance or as a panel. If you don't see the drug testing panel you want on our website, just contact us and we'll be happy to help you.

In addition, we offer court-ordered drug testing. Our legal testing and services include drug screening for DUI, probation, and child custody cases.

Why US Drug Test Centers?

What makes us different from other drug testing providers? Here are just a few benefits of partnering with us.

We Offer the Biggest Selection of Drug Testing Services

We can screen for a very wide variety of illegal drugs, including opioids, suboxone, Rohypnol, cocaine, PCP, ecstasy, medical/recreational marijuana, and barbiturates. You can purchase many of our drug tests individually or combine them into a panel.

We can even screen for heavy metals and unknown substances if you think you've been poisoned but you're not sure what you might've consumed.

You can order both urine and hair drug testing, and our alcohol testing services include breath alcohol tests.

Our Convenience is Unparalleled

You can order a test online in just a few clicks, and some of our locations can even accommodate same-day appointments.

If you need drug testing in a hurry, consider instant/POCT urine testing. Negative results are returned the same day!

On-site mobile drug testing is another option. A trained collector will meet you (or your employee) within two hours to begin the collection process.

Accuracy is a Top Priority

US Drug Test Centers partners only with SAMHSA-certified laboratories. These labs are held to stricter standards when it comes to the processes they follow and the equipment that they use.

Furthermore, all of our drug or alcohol testing results are reviewed by a medical review officer (MRO), who is a licensed physician.

Why is an MRO so important? Let's say, for example, that an employee tests positive, but they're concerned it could've been triggered by their prescription medication. An MRO can confirm if the results are accurate or not.

Our Services are All-Encompassing

If you're trying to maintain a drug-free workplace, we'll go beyond drug or alcohol testing. We can also assist you with the employer's written policy, determining when you should require random testing, and more so that you can keep substance abuse out of the work environment.

Our Customer Service Can't Be Beat

The testing process can feel incredibly overwhelming. How do you know when to test applicants? What do you do if you get a positive test result? Should you allow employees with a medical marijuana card to use the substance during working hours? How can you ensure that you stay in line with state laws so that employees' rights are respected?

Our specialists can answer these questions and many more.

Order a Drug or Alcohol Test Today

Drug testing in Oklahoma has never been this easy, convenient, and affordable. Whether you want to conduct drug tests for applicants, you want to provide employer drug testing as a DOT company, or you're a parent who's concerned that your teenager might be using illegal drugs, we're here to help.
