Workplace Drug Testing for Non-DOT and DOT Companies

What are your current drug-free workplace policies? If you're an employer, keeping drugs and alcohol far from the workplace is of utmost importance.

Substance abuse can lead to workplace accidents, on-the-job crime, decreased morale, and increased employee turnover. This is why drug testing in New Jersey companies is so important.

We'll help you:

  • Craft bullet-proof drug testing policies to protect you, your team, and your business entity.

  • Train your staff, including your designated employer representative (DER). For example, we'll show them how to establish reasonable suspicion and determine impairment.

  • Conduct all drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment screening, reasonable suspicion drug testing, random drug testing, post-accident drug testing, and return-to-duty drug testing.

  • Conduct all background checks. Order checks and receive the results electronically.

Keeping DOT Companies and Owner-Operators Compliant

US Drug Test Centers also works with companies and owner-operators employed by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Staying compliant with local and federal law is crucial to keep your business running.

Screening is particularly important for safety-sensitive employees. Such testing confirms that they're capable of fulfilling their duties while keeping themselves, coworkers, and the general public safe.

We offer all of the aforementioned services to DOT businesses so that you can pass an audit at any time.

Ready to get started? Order your test online today.

Our testing locations do not accept payment and require a drug test order form at the time of testing. Please click the "Order a Test" button to order your test. New Jersey Drug Testing FAQs

Do employers in New Jersey need to comply with mandatory state-specific rules when drug & alcohol testing?

Employers must use a certified laboratory. Random testing is limited to safety-sensitive positions only. Post-accident testing should only be conducted when there is a reason to believe that the individual caused or contributed to the incident.

Yes. Employers may be able to leverage an ‘Intoxication’ defense to a Workers’ Compensation Claim, based on a positive drug test result and misconduct. Employers wishing to leverage either of these benefits must voluntarily comply with very detailed program rules.

Yes. This state has authorized the use of medical marijuana for limited medical conditions. The law prohibits employers from discriminating against an individual solely based on their status as a registrant in the state’s medical marijuana program. If a medical marijuana registrant tests positive for marijuana the employer must provide an opportunity for them to present a legitimate medical explanation, the employer must provide a written notice of the right to explain the test results and within three working days, the employee or job applicant may submit information to explain the result or may request a retest at the employee or applicants own expense.   Recently, a court ruled that a disabled and authorized medical marijuana using employee may sue his former employer under the states’ discrimination law. Employers may also be required to pay for the cost of medical marijuana.

Drug Test Options for Individuals in New Jersey

We don't only work with companies. US Drug Test Centers also provides testing to individuals in New Jersey.

This includes court-ordered drug testing — DUI, child custody, and probation screening.

How We Screen for Drugs

We offer urine drug testing, hair drug testing, and breath alcohol testing in the state of New Jersey.

Urine drug testing is the most common screening method, especially for employers. Hair follicle drug testing offers certain unique benefits. Because the whole test is conducted by the collector, it's impossible for the donor to cheat. Furthermore, hair drug testing has a longer detecting window, so it's a better way to detect long-term patterns of drug abuse.

If you're not sure what type of drug test you need, contact us for assistance.

Our Various Panels

If you don't see the panel or drug tests you're looking for on our website, contact us and we'll be happy to help you.

What Makes Us Different?

Why partner with us and not another testing company?

Accuracy

Delivering accurate test results is our top priority. We only work with SAMHSA-certified laboratories, which are held to stricter standards than other types of labs.

Additionally, we verify all results with a medical review officer (MRO), who is a licensed physician. As an example, let's say an employee receives positive drug test results, but they suspect that it was triggered by their prescription medication. An MRO can confirm this.

Convenience

Our drug tests are quick and easy to order. We offer mobile drug testing, where a collector will meet you (or your employee) within two hours.

We also offer instant/POCT testing, where negative results are returned the same day.

Furthermore, we have more than 20,000 drug testing laboratories nationwide, meaning we're never more than a short drive away in New Jersey.
